Ladyjacks Volleyball Spring Schedule Set

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin volleyball head coach Debbie Humphreys announced her team’s spring schedule on Wednesday afternoon. The Ladyjacks will host two events during spring competitions while heading to the Houston area twice.
SFA will host a spring tournament on March 22 at Shelton Gym with Sam Houston State and Northwestern State slated to participate at this time. The Ladyjacks will then travel to take on Rice on March 29 and return to Houston to play in the Houston Juniors College Tournament on April 5.
The Ladyjacks will close their spring schedule with Alumni Weekend on April 26. SFA will host Louisiana Tech and play against some former Ladyjacks as well.
Alumni Weekend is a sort of homecoming for SFA volleyball players every three years that will include informal gathering on Friday evening and a cookout at Shelton Gym to go along with the competition.
“Alumni Weekend is such an awesome event for us,” Humphreys said. “It is so much fun to see everyone, as well as their families. It is also neat to see the bonds that have formed between players who played at different times. They are all a part of the Ladyjack Volleyball family and you certainly feel that connection during Alumni Weekend.”
The Ladyjacks will begin official team spring workouts near the end of February in preparation for the 2014 season. SFA returns six of seven starters, including All-Southland Conference Second Team members Jill Ivy and OJ Olson.
