NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Stephen F. Austin head football coach Clint Conque today announced two more junior college transfers to the 2015 Lumberjack roster. Linebacker Price Miller and defensive back Tre Rosser will join the SFA roster this winter, adding more depth to the Lumberjack defensive unit.
“Continuing to strengthen and add depth to our defense has been a key focus, and we are excited about the additions of Price and Tre,” Conque said. “Both of them had solid junior college and high school careers and both have very high football IQs. As with all of our transfers, we anticipate them coming in and having an immediate impact and will add depth, experience and a physicality to our defensive units.”
Miller is a 6-1, 235-pound linebacker out of Rockdale, Texas, who spent the past two seasons at Golden West College in Huntington Beach, California. Miller led the Rustlers in tackles (95), tackles for loss (5.5) and sacks (2.5), earning first team All-Southern California Football Association honors in the process.
A two-year letterwinner at Thorndale High School, Miller was named a first team all-district selection as a junior. In his senior campaign, he helped lead the Bulldogs to a District 13-2A title, advancing to the regional finals.
Rosser is a 5-10, 180-pound defensive back who makes the short trek down the road after playing two seasons at Tyler Junior College. Rosser was a first team All-Southwest Junior College Football Conference selection, finishing with 37 tackles, six interceptions and 20 pass breakups as the Apaches advanced to the SWJCFC championship game before falling to Trinity Valley.
A four year letterwinner at Clarksville High School, Rosser was a two-time first team all-district selection playing both quarterback and defensive end. An all-state honoree in 2011, Rosser helped lead the Tigers to back-to-back District 6-2A championships, accounting for nearly 7,000 yards of total offense and 70 touchdowns during his prep career.
Miller and Rosser bring the number of JUCO transfers to four for SFA this offseason, joining Zack Starnes and Darrell Vanerson who signed earlier this week. Coach Conque added that SFA could add a couple more transfers before the start of the winter semester.
