NACOGDOCHES, Texas - On the heels of back-to-back victories over Rice and Texas State, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks soccer team was rewarded by being ranked fourth in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tire NCAA Division I Women's Central Poll released on Tuesday.
SFA (2-0) climbed as high as sixth in the poll last season, which was the previous school-record. The Ladyjacks sit behind only No. 11 Baylor (2-0-0), West Virginia (1-0-1) and No. 23 Texas Tech (2-0-0) in the region. Behind SFA is Texas, Oklahoma State, Tulsa, Oklahoma, North Texas and UAB.
The Ladyjacks also received two votes in the national top-25 poll, also the most in school history. SFA faces another challenging weekend starting this Friday when they travel to the University of Houston, followed by a Sunday match at home against Arizona State.
