
Dozier Named To Brooks Wallace Award Watch List

LUBBOCK, Texas - Stephen F. Austin shortstop was recently named to the Brooks Wallace Award Watch List by the College Baseball Hall of Fame, an honor sponsored by Mizuno which is presented to the top shortstop in the nation after the conclusion of the season.
Dozier is one of 26 athletes to be named to the list and is joined by Sam Houston State's Carter Burgess as the only two shortstops from the Southland Conference on the list.
The junior from Denton, Texas, currently leads the Southland in batting average (.408), slugging percentage (.782), on-base percentage (.511), home runs (11), doubles (22) and total bases (115). He also ranks in the top five in run scored (37), hits (60), RBI (37) and walks (30).
His numbers in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, home runs, doubles and total bases all also rank in the top 10 in the nation entering the week.
Dozier was a first-team all-Southland Conference shortstop as a sophomore and was a preseason all-America choice by both the NCBWA and Louisville Slugger entering this season.
The Brooks Wallace Award will be announced at the College Baseball Hall of Fame's Night of Champions on June 29 in Lubbock, Texas.
