- SFA has never taken on Penn State in baseball, but is 6-5 all-time vs Nebraska-Omaha, not having faced UNO since the 1987 season. SFA is 14-22 all-time vs former Southland member UTSA.s
- SFA shortstop Hunter Dozier tied the SFA all-time doubles mark with his 36th career two-bagger on Wednesday vs Louisiana Tech and needs just one more to stand alone as the new all-time career leader at SFA.
- The 'Jacks have four preseason all-Southland Conference selections: Hunter Dozier, Freddy Villalobos, Max Lamantia and Cameron Gann.
- SFA led the Southland with 35 homers as a team last season, and are currently out in front in that category again with seven long balls after cranking five in its last two games. Three of those have come from second baseman Freddy Villalobos, as well as a pair from Jordon Lenaburg.
- Hunter Dozier is SFA's first ever preseason all-America (Collegiate Baseball, NCBWA). He is the only Lumberjack to reach base in each of SFA's first six games.
- SFA is installing new lighting at Jaycees Field, allowing for night games to be played in Nacogdoches for the first time since 1995.
