FOR STARTERS: SFA (11-14, 6-8) travels to Huntsville on Wednesday to take on the Bearkats (13-12, 9-4) for the first time this season. Wednesday also marks the final road game of the regular season for the Ladyjacks.
LAST TIME OUT: Porsha Roberts scored a career-high 32 points and the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks rallied from six points down in the first overtime to defeat Southeastern Louisiana 83-80 in double overtime at the University Center Saturday afternoon. SFA snapped a two-game losing streak by scoring a season-high in points, including a 7-4 advantage in the all-important second overtime.
COVERAGE: Wednesday's game will be video streamed and have live stats on gobearkats.com. The game will also be broadcast on Q107.7 FM with James Dixon on the call, as well as q1077.com. As always, Twitter updates will be provided throughout at @SFA_WBB.
HISTORY VS. SHSU: The Ladyjacks are 62-8 all-time against the Bearkats and split the season-series last year. SFA defeated SHSU 69-67 last season in Huntsville.
BENCH PRODUCTION: After losing the bench scoring battle for the first time in almost two months, the Ladyjacks won the advantage on Saturday 17-12. The Ladyjacks are now averaging just under 23 points off the bench and have outscored their opponents 573-288.
ROBERTS LEADING THE WAY: Sophomore center Porsha Roberts had a career night last time out against SLU, scoring a career-high 32 points on 11-of-12 shooting and made 10-of-13 at the FT line. Roberts also played in 43 of the possible 50 minutes in the double overtime win.
GOING THE EXTRA MILE: The Ladyjacks have already played in three overtime games this season but surprisingly that matches the same mark set just two years ago. In that year SFA also played a double overtime game against Tulsa.
WHERE THEY STAND: SFA is currently the seventh seed in the Southland Conference standings, and just one game back of sxith place Central Arkansas. This season the top-8 teams in the conference make the league tournament in Katy, Texas with the top four seeds getting first round byes.
