FOR STARTERS: SFA (10-13, 5-7) returns to the road this week beginning with a showdown against the Nicholls State Colonels on Feb. 14. SFA is 3-9 on the road this season, which includes a 2-4 mark in conference play.
LAST TIME OUT: Despite four players scoring in double-figures and tying a season-high in field goal percentage and three-point makes, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks were unable to slow down the dynamic duo of Kevi Luper (30 points) and Jaci Bigham (26 points) in a 68-64 loss to the Golden Eagles Saturday afternoon at William R. Johnson Coliseum.
COVERAGE: Thursday's game will be video streamed on ESPN3 and live stats here. The game will also be broadcast on Q107.7 FM with James Dixon on the call, as well as q1077.com. As always, Twitter updates will be provided throughout at @SFA_WBB.
HISTORY VS. NIC: The Ladyjacks are 40-4 all-time against Nicholls, including a 74-66 victory over the Colonels earlier this season in Nacogdoches.
BENCH PRODUCTION: The Ladyjacks have now won the bench scoring comparison in 20 of 23 games after outscoring ORU 28-2. SFA is averaging 23.1 points per game off their bench, 13 points better than their opponents (10.8).
PORSHA SEEING DOUBLE: Sophomore center Porsha Roberts has scored in double-figures in eight consecutive games and is averaging 14.5 point per game in Southland Conference play on 56 percent shooting from the field. Roberts also moved into eighth place in school history in career blocks with 94.
WHERE THEY STAND: SFA is currently the seventh seed in the Southland Conference standings tied with Northwestern State with a 5-7 record. The Ladyjacks own the tie-breaker though thanks to their 57-50 overtime victory over NSU on Jan. 26. This season the top-8 teams in the conference make the league tournament in Katy, Texas.
