LAST TIME OUT: Despite the Ladyjacks rallying from a 15-point first half deficit to take a lead late in the second half, however the Ladyjacks were unable to hang on and fell 66-60 to the McNeese State Cowgirls Wednesday evening at the Civic Center. Porsha Roberts scored a teamhigh 21 points for SFA in defeat and was helped in the scoring department by senior guard Ashlee Mells and junior forward Annette Davis, each of whom scored 10 points apiece off the bench.
COVERAGE: Saturday's game will be video streamed on lamarcardinals.com, as well as live stats. The game will also be broadcast on Q107.7 FM with James Dixon on the call, as well as q1077.com. As always, Twitter updates will be provided throughout at @SFA_WBB.
HISTORY VS. LU: SFA is 42-10 all-time against Lamar. The Lady Cardinals defeated the Ladyjacks 65-50 in the conference opener back on Jan. 3.
BENCH PRODUCTION: The Ladyjacks have now won the bench scoring comparison in 17 of 20 games after outscoring McNeese State, 32-28. Over the past four games SFA has outscored the opposing team’s bench 119-41.
PORSHA SEEING DOUBLE-DOUBLE: Sophomore center Porsha Roberts recorded her sixth double-double of the season by scoring 21 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against the Cowgirls on Wednesday. Roberts has now scored in double-figures 14 times this season and in five consecutive games dating back to Jan. 12.
WHERE THEY STAND: The Ladyjacks are currently the sixth seed in the Southland Conference thanks to the tie-breaker over Nicholls State. This season the top-8 teams in the conference make the league tournament in Katy, Texas.
