NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin (4-2), fresh off a 98-78 thumping of Samford, will head to UNC-Wilmington Friday, Nov. 29, at 6:00 p.m. inside Trask Coliseum. The Friday night tilt is the first meetings between the opposing schools.
UNCW (4-4) held NAIA member Campbellsville to 34.9 percent shooting and a season-low scoring total for opponents in a 72-55 victory over the undermanned Tigers on Nov. 26 at Trask Coliseum. The Seahawks snapped a two-game losing streak in the victory, as the game was the first meeting between the two teams and the ninth straight non-conference home win for UNCW.
The Last Time Out
SFA never trailed and placed five Lumberjacks in double figures, including 21 points from junior Jacob Parker, in a 98-78 offensive surge over Samford Tuesday night inside William R. Johnson Coliseum. SFA lead the entire length of the game, as the 98 points against the Bulldogs (1-6) is the most scored for the `Jacks since they dropped 93 against UT-Tyler (93-36) in the 2011-12 season.
Parker's 21 points across 20 minutes played was a game-high, as he was joined by Desmond Haymon (18), Thomas Walkup (15), Deshaunt Walker (14) and Nikola Gajic (11) in double-figures. Junior Tanner Clayton finished one off of joining his teammates, recording a career-high nine points. The 15 points for Walkup, all made in the first half, was also a career-high.
UP NEXT
SFA will remain in the state of North Carolina, playing at High Point Sunday, Dec. 1, at 1:00 p.m. The `Jacks will then return to Nacogdoches, hosting James Madison and Towson inside William R. Johnson Coliseum. Sam Houston State will also partake in the tournament, facing the other two visiting schools.
