Boyd and Johnson Earn CFPA Accolades

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin wide receiver Tyler Boyd and running back Gus Johnson earned FCS College Football Performance Awards for their outstanding performances against Lamar on Saturday.
Boyd was named Honorable Mention Wide Receiver of the Week for the third consecutive week after registering career-high 229 yards and two touchdowns on nine receptions. Both touchdowns gave the 'Jacks leads in the contest.
Johnson finished with 165 rushing yards on twenty carries with one touchdown. He also added eight receiving yards. In the fourth quarter, Johnson produced an 81-yard rush to the Lamar one-yard line. The carry set up a Joshawa West rushing touchdown on the next play.
The `Jacks will close the 2013 season with their annual "Battle for Chief Caddo" at Northwestern State Saturday, Nov. 23, at 1:00 p.m.
