Game Notes & What To Watch For:
- Each game can be followed via Live Stats at www.lionsports.net, as well as via the radio at the same location. Fans can also follow along on the official SFA Facebook and Twitter pages for the most up-to-date information on all games.
- Southeastern is the lone Southland Conference program which SFA has not picked up a series win against since returning to baseball in 2006. SFA is just 12-22 all-time against the Lions. The 'Jacks had lost seven in a row to Southeastern before winning the series finale in Hammond. The last time SFA took a series from the Lions was 1987.
- In his last six appearances, including four starts, Chase Greening is 4-1 with a 2.18 ERA, striking out 17 and walking six four batters in 33.0 innings. Meanwhile, as a starter freshman Cameron Gann has won four of his six starts, holding batters to a .226 average with 27 strikeouts and 15 walks in 46.0 innings.
- The 'Jacks will have a difficult task in front of them in going to Hammond, where Southeastern holds a holds a 19-4 record on the year. This weekend will mark their first games at home in three weeks after an eight-game road swing.
- Sophomore shortstop Hunter Dozier currently leads the Lumberjacks with a .343 batting average and ranks in the top 10 in the SLC in batting average, hits, runs scored, homers, doubles, walks and slugging percentage. But he's not the only 'Jack who's been hot at the plate as senior Chris Hernandez has been on a hot streak of his own. In his last eight games, Hernandez has 11 hits in 26 at-bats (.423), including five doubles and five RBI to raise his season average to .324, good enough for second on the squad.
