Ladyjacks To Play In Women's Basketball Invitational

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - One of the greatest season's in Ladyjacks history this decade will continue into next week when SFA will take part in the Women's Basketball Invitational.
The Ladyjacks (23-9) have been guaranteed a spot in the 16-team tournament and there is a chance SFA would open the tournament in Nacogdoches at William R. Johnson Coliseum.
The WBI provides a choice for postseason worthy Division I Women’s teams who wish to continue their season but who do not qualify for the NCAA tournament. The 16 team event will take place over two weeks with all games being played on campus sites.
Selections will be announced March 12 and the first round matchups will take place on March 14-15 with the Championship game tentatively scheduled for March 24 or 25.
The 16-team tournament, which is in its third season, is a single elimination event. Appalachian State (2010) and UAB (2011) have won the tournament the previous two years.
