For the 10th year in a row, College Sporting News has named a preseason All-America team and the Southland Conference topped all of the conferences with 17 sections. Three members of the Lumberjack football team have been named to the CSN Preseason All-American team.
First team, special-teams player, Gralyn Crawford continues to be one of the nation's top returning receivers and kick returners after being named a 2010 First-Team All-SLC and earned All-American honors. Crawford has played in and started in 25 games as a Lumberjack. This past season, Crawford finished second in the league with 74 catches for 981 years and five touchdowns. He also was among the nation's leaders averaging better 28 yards per kick, and returned three kicks and a touchdown for scores.
George Bias is a two-time All-SLC honoree who garnered third-team honors. The three year starter has anchored an offensive line that has helped produced the nation's top passing attack the past two years. Bias has played in 37 games, starting in 33 of them. Bias continues to be one of the nation's top lineman after grading out at 92 percent last season.
Another third team selection was Jefferson, Texas native, Cordell Roberson. Heading into his third season, Roberson earned a spot on the CSN Preseason All-American list after a breakout campaign in 2010. He lead the nation with 16 touchdown receptions in 12 games. Being one of the top big-play threats in the nation, Roberson finished second on the squad with 61 catches, and led the team 1,011 receiving yards. On top of that, Roberson finished 18th in the country averaging 84.2 yards per game.
The Lumberjacks are set to kickoff the season Thursday, September 1 at 6 p.m. against McMurry from Homer Bryce stadium.
