NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Ladyjack head basketball coach Brandon Schneider has announced the signing of the eighth member of the SFA signing class for the upcoming 2011-12 season, Frisco Centennial guard Iemah Wallace-Perry.
A four-year letter winner for the the Lady Titans, Wallace-Perry averaged 14.2 points, 2.3 assists and 2.6 steals per game as a senior in leading CHS to the Class 4A state playoffs. The 5-5, 125-pound guard shot 41 percent from the field, including 37 percent from beyond the three-point arc in being named to the first team all-district squad. In her career she also earned honorable mention all-district honors as both a freshman and sophomore before second team honors as a junior, and even was named to the TABC all-region team as a senior.
"Iemah is an athletic combo guard who can finish at the rim and stretch the defense with her range beyond the arc," Schneider said. "She is a terrific student with a tremendous work ethic and attitude. Iemah will add depth to our perimeter attack and will be an asset to our program both on and off the court."
In addition to her exploits on the court, Wallace-Perry was also an academic all-district selection during her time in high school and a member of the National Honor Society. She was a standout on the volleyball court and in track and field, currently holding the CHS long jump record with a mark of 19'2".
Wallace-Perry is the eighth member of SFA's incoming class, and the seventh freshman to sign on with Schneider's club. SFA's incoming crop of players is ranked as one of the top 40 classes in the nation.
