
Clint Harris Wins Discus Throw

AUSTIN, Texas - Freshman thrower Clint Harris recorded a throw of 184-8 to win the B section of the men's discus throw Friday afternoon at the Texas Relays in Austin. Harris' throw set the tone for a strong day of competition by the SFA men and women.
Junior Nick McCloud just missed qualifying for the finals in the men's 110-meter hurdles. McCloud clocked a time of 13.78 to finish 10th overall. McCloud missed the qualifying time by only two-hundredths of a second.
Crystal Walker posted a top-five mark in the women's long jump B finals. Walker recorded a jump of 18-11.25 to finish fourth overall. She was one of two Ladyjacks to land in the top 10. Senior Camelia Sams was seventh overall with a mark of 18-5.25. Walker returned to the runway for the women's triple jump where she recorded a mark of 39-3.25 to finish 11th overall.
Several events were slated to begin in the evening session Friday evening.
