Allen Signs On With SFA Volleyball

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin head volleyball coach Debbie Humphreys announced Wednesday the signing of Mansfield (TX) Summitt student-athlete Jaque Allen to a National Letter of Intent, making her the fifth Ladyjack signee for the upcoming 2011 season.
"Jacque is an amazing athlete who will improve by leaps and bounds very quickly," Humphreys said. "She has all of the physical tools to be a top level middle blocker in the Southland Conference. We are looking forward to working with her."
A 6-1 middle blocker, Allen was the 2010 Hitter MVP for District 7-4A and is expected to bring immediate size and athleticism to a youthful roster that is expected to feature at least seven underclassmen next season.
During her time at SHS she also earned all-state recognition for her work on the court, and academic all-district recognition for her efforts both on and off the floor. Most recently, in 2010 she helped lead Summitt to a runner-up finish in District 7-4A and a run three rounds deep into the Class 4A state playoffs. a Allen played her club volleyball for Ace VB Club, and also lettered a year in basketball and three years in track and field.
