NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Approximately 20 NFL scouts, in addition to the media, showed up at Homer Bryce Stadium Thursday morning to watch the Lumberjacks seniors workout. Among the list of standouts who took part in the pro-timing day were All-Americans Jabara Williams and Kenneth Charles, two-time All-Southland Conference selection Andre Banks and deep snapper Dustin Kempf. NFL scouts have beaten a path to Nacogdoches over the past couple of seasons to take a closer look at the Lumberjacks. All-American receiver Dominique Edison was a sixth-round draft choice of the Tennessee Titans in 2009, while defensive end Tim Knicky, and receivers Aaron Rhea and Contrevious Parks each signed NFL contracts last season.
The NFL Draft returns to primetime in 2011, with the first round taking place Thursday, April 28, followed by the second and third rounds on Friday, April 29. Rounds 4-7 will be held Saturday, April 30.
