GRAMBLING, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis set a new program record with an impressive victory over Grambling State Wednesday night. The Ladyjacks recorded an impressive 7-0 win over the Tigers to improve to 15-1 on the season. The 15th wins set a new program record for victories in a season.
"We are playing well right now," said head coach Patrick Sullivan. "It was nice to pick up this mid-week, non-conference win, but our focus right now is on preparing for Texas State Saturday."
The Ladyjacks were dominant winning the first two double matches to take a 1-0 lead. SFA never allowed Grambling State back in the match during singles play taking all six matches in straight sets.
The Ladyjacks, who are in the midst of their best season in program history, have now won six consecutive matches. It is the second-longest win streak of the season. SFA has now recorded seven shutouts on the season.
SFA returns to Southland Conference play Saturday when they return home to host Texas State. The Ladyjacks will host Texas-Arlington Sunday morning. Both matches will take place at the Schlief Tennis Complex.
