Ladyjacks Card Program Record in Final Round

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack golf team fired a record-low round of 308 Tuesday to climb one spot in the final day of action at the American Bank Islander Classic in Corpus Christi. The Ladyjacks finished the tournament ninth overall with a three-round 315-319-308 - 942 on the par-72, 6,073-yard Corpus Christi Country Club course.
Three Ladyjacks recorded their lowest round of the tournament Tuesday, and three of five finished the day with sub-80 scores. Freshman Marissa Bransburg carded a team-best 75 in the final round, and finished the tournament tied for 46th overall (85-80-75 - 240).
Senior Noelle Willcoxon was the team's most consistent player throughout the tournament. She finished up third-round play with a four-over par 76, which placed her tied for 28th overall. She recorded a three-round score of 78-78-76 - 232. Sophomore Allison Flake was only a stroke off Willcoxon's pace finished tied for 31st with a 233.
Sophomore Chelsea Simmons posted the team's fourth-lowest score. She was tied for 52nd overall after carding an 81-81-80 - 242. Freshman Rosie Henderson competed in her second tournament as a Ladyjack, and finished 76th overall with a 260.
The Ladyjacks return to action Monday, March 21, when they travel to Hattiesburg, Miss., to compete in the Southern Mississippi Tournament.
