NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Off to their best start since prior to the 2000 campaign, the Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team will open the home portion of its schedule Sunday against Louisiana Tech (0-1). The match against the Lady Techsters, which was originally scheduled to begin at noon, will now get under way at 10 a.m. from the Schlief Tennis Complex.
SFA has opened the 2011 season 3-0 under first-year head coach Patrick Sullivan, and will place its modest season-opening win streak on the line against a veteran Lady Techsters' squad that dropped its season-opening match against Jacksonville State. Louisiana Tech will host a couple of home matches Friday and Saturday against Southern and conference-foe Central Arkansas before traveling to Nacogdoches.
The Ladyjacks have been dominate in their three wins, posting two shutouts and dropping a total of two matches in the three victories. SFA has also dominated the conference weekly honors winning the Southland Conference's Player of the Week award in each of the first two weeks.
Following Sunday's match, the Ladyjacks will be back on the road Saturday, Feb. 19, when they travel to Tulsa, Okla., to take on Oral Roberts. The match against Golden Eagles is slated to begin at 1 p.m.
