NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team has scheduled the annual Academic Shootout for Saturday, Feb. 19, when it hosts Texas State at the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
The Ladyjacks will have a table set up at the front gate of the Coliseum where fans can make pledges. Fans can pledge a certain amount, or can pledge on a per point basis. The table will be available at all SFA home games.
The funds raised from the Academic Shootout goes to help pay for the Ladyjacks' summer school classes.
The game is also part of a busy day for the Ladyjacks as the game will also be the annual Think Pink game where the Ladyjacks will sport pink jerseys in support of breast cancer awareness. The Southland Conference Television Network will also be on hand to broadcast the 2:00 p.m. game.
The Ladyjacks are currently 7-12 on the season, and are third in the Southland Conference West Division with a 4-2 conference record. SFA just returned from Corpus Christi, where they recorded a 90-64 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi behind seven three pointers from freshman Cheyenne Berry.
They will next be in action on Wednesday as part of a road twin-bill with the men at Texas State. The women tip at 5:30 p.m., with the men's game to follow from Strahan Coliseum.
