- This is the first time SFA has been a No. 7 seed in the tournament, the lowest seed the Ladyjacks have ever been entering season’s final event before the NCAA Tournament. Before this year the Ladyjacks had never been lower than a No. 5 seed, and are just one year removed from missing the league tournament for the first time in program history.
- No team lower than a No. 5 seed has ever won the Southland Conference Tournament. Texas State in 2007 and UT-Arlington in 2001 are the only occurrences up to this point. Oddly enough, the last time it happened was in this year’s location - 2007 in the Convocation Center.
- Since the tournament expanded to eight teams in 2005, No. 7 seeds are 1-5 in the event with the only win by a No. 7 seed coming when Nicholls upset Sam Houston State in 2009.
- SFA is 4-0 all-time in the SLC Tournament against first-round opponent UTSA, including the 1996 title match. The last time SFA played the Runners was in 2009 at the Convocation Center when the No. 3 Ladyjacks came back from a 1-0 deficit to take a 3-1 win over the No. 6 Roadrunners.
- Lamar is the only Southland school currently in the SLC East that has ever won a Southland Conference tournament title, doing so in 2008 when they were actually playig as a member of the SLC West. No team from Louisiana has ever won the tournament. **Nicholls won the 2003 SLC Tournament, but that title has since been vacated.
- Since the tournament expanded to eight teams in 2005, SFA has only been knocked out in the first round once - 2008.
- The Ladyjacks have made the SLC Tournament title match 11 times since 1992, which is three more times than the second-place team on that list: Texas State with eight. SFA is 4-7 in those title matches, while also compiling a 25-20 all-time record in the tournament.
- This year will mark just the second time that the Southland Conference Volleyball Tournament has been played outside the state of Texas, and the first time since the 1997 season, when it was played in Lake Charles, La. -- That year the No. 2 seed, SFA, took the tourney title with a swee of Nicholls in the title match.
- MC Bottles is the only Ladyjack on this year’s roster who has been named to an all-SLC Tournament squad. In all, SFA has had 35 all-tournament selections with four tournament MVPs.
