NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Junior libero Madison Hanlan was named Defensive Player of Week as Southland Conference officials announced Monday afternoon.
Hanlan became the fourth Ladyjack in history to surpass the 1,500-dig mark for her career with 43 digs over 2 matches last week. The junior from Arlington had 21 digs in Wednesday 3-1 loss to Houston Baptist and followed that up with a 22 dig performance in Saturdays 3-0 sweep of Nicholls.
This is the third time in Hanlan's career and first weekly honor since her freshman year, and just the second weekly honor for SFA this season. MC Bottles was named offensive player of the week after the leagues opening weekend.
Ladyjacks will be back in action this week with matches versus Texas State and UT-Arlington.
