BEAUMONT, Texas - Chelsea Raymond scored a goal in the 10th minute and the Stephen F. Austin defense made it stand as the Ladyjacks won their ninth consecutive match with a 1-0 victory over Lamar Sunday afternoon.
"I was very proud of the team today," SFA head coach Tony Amato said. "We dealt with a direct, physical team, and got the result on the road. The players showed they have a desire to win and that was great to see."

Raymond, who scored three goals in Friday's win at McNeese St., scored her team-leading 13th goal off an assist from Laura Sadler on a breakaway in the open field, beating Lamar goalkeeper Jennifer Gibbs.
SFA outshot Lamar 18-11 and Lacey Lee recorded yet another shutout, making five saves as the Ladyjacks' keep adding to their single-season record of consecutive shutouts (7).
The Ladyjacks will be back in action next weekend when they host Southeastern Louisiana on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. and Nicholls State on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 1 p.m.
