Nelson Named FCS ADA Academic All-Star

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Junior punter Drew Nelson has been named to the 2010 FCS Athletics Directors Association All-Star team announced organization officials Tuesday afternoon.
A three-year letterwinner from Livingston, Texas, Nelson has proven himself as one of the top punters in the country both on the field and in the classroom. To be nominated for the award, players must maintain at least a 3.2 grade-point average, and be a starter or significant reserve.
Nelson finished off his junior campaign as one of the top punters in the nation averaging 41.6 yards per punt, including nine punts of at least 50 yards. A two-time All-Southland Conference selection, Nelson finished the year ranked 13th in nation.
