WICHITA, Kan. - Kelsey Owens poured in 14 kills, but Portland swung .358 for the match and swept by the Ladyjacks 3-0 (25-19, 30-28, 25-23) on the final day of the Springhill Suites Shocker Classic at the Charles Koch Arena.
Four Pilots (4-1) finished in double figures as Portland picked up its second win over SFA (2-5) in as many days. Lindsay Hill chipped in seven kills for the Ladyjacks and Monica Pannone had six as SFA swung a solid .254 for the match, its highest since hitting .256 against Butler.
Allison Gideon added seven kills and 34 assists in being named to the all-tournament team, and Madison Hanlan finished with 14 digs to reach double figures for the seventh straight match.
SFA hit just .069 in the first set, but delivered 37 kills in the next two sets alone; however, the Pilots hit .428 over the final two sets to negate the Ladyjack efforts.
The Ladyjacks get five days off before opening up the Drake Tournament next Friday in Des Moines, Iowa, against Wisconsin-Green Bay. SFA will also take on South Dakota, Idaho State and Drake in the tournament.
