'Jacks 5th Overall After Day One at ORU Shootout

BROKEN ARROW, Okla. - The Stephen F. Austin Men's golf team traveled to Broken Arrow, Okla., to compete in the Bob Hurley Auto ORU Shootout Monday and Tuesday. After taking fourth place last year at the Shootout, the Lumberjacks return for their third consecutive year of competition.
The team finished the first two rounds of the tournament shooting a 607 landing them in fifth place at the end of the day.
Junior Stetson McMillan led the 'Jacks firing a 72-73-145 tying him for 5th place overall after the first two rounds. Eight strokes behind McMillan was sophomore Mitchell McLeroy who is tied for 25th place carding a 75-78-153.
Freshman Jared Johnson shot an 81 in the first round, but fired back to shoot a 73 in the second round putting him in 28th place after the first day. Tied for 40th place is senior Richard Wilkenfeld shooting 78-80-158 and redshirt freshman Michael McCall carded a 78-91-169. Individual player, junior Jordan Wynn carded an 81-81-162 for the Lumberjacks at the end of the first day's play.
The Lumberjacks will return to competition to close out the final round of the Bob Hurley Auto ORU Shootout Tuesday morning. The Lumberjacks are slated to tee off tomorrow at 8 am.
