
Dickhaut Named SFA Orthopedic Specialist

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Dr. Steven Dickhaut has been named Stephen F. Austin Orthopedic Specialist Director of Athletics Robert Hill announced Monday afternoon. Dickhaut replaces Dr. David Sanderson who retired in July. A graduate of the Baylor College of Medicine, Dickhaut has been an orthopedic surgeon in Nacogdoches since 1986.
"I appreciate the opportunity to serve with an athletics department that has set a standard of excellence," said Dickhaut. "I want to continue that excellence as I serve in my orthopedic practice."
Dickhaut specializes in arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery and total joint replacement. He has lectured arthroscopic surgery, and is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.
"We are so happy that Dr. Dickhaut has agreed to serve as our team orthopedic specialist," said Hill. "His experience and expertise will greatly benefit our student-athletes. He has taken care of a number of our student-athletes over the years. We are pleased that have him as a member of the SFA family."
Following his graduation from Baylor, Dickhaut did an orthopedic residency at UTSA in 1982. He held a practice in the Dallas area for several years before moving to Nacogdoches.
