Lumberjack Football Holds Walk-on Meeting

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The defending Southland Conference Champion Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team will be holding a walk-on meeting Sunday, Aug. 29th, in the Lawton Ready Room. The meeting is slated to begin at 7 p.m. Individuals interested in walking on to the team must attend the meeting.
The Lumberjacks recorded one of the largest turnarounds in the country last season to post a 10-3 mark and win the Southland Conference title. The run to the title came only a year following a 4-8 season, and only two years after posting an 0-11 mark.
SFA enters the upcoming season as a unanimous favorite to repeat as conference champions according to preseason polls of the league head coaches and sports information directors. A preseason top 10 selection, SFA is one of only six schools to have a player named to the both the Walter Payton Award Watch List and the Buck Buchanan Award Watch List.
