
SFA Football Hosts Third Thursday Luncheon in Lufkin

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The 2009 Southland Conference Coach of the Year, J.C. Harper, will be at Ralph and Kacoo's every third Thursday for the SFA-Lufkin Athletics Luncheon. The luncheons begin Thursday, Aug. 19th with a meal at 11:45 a.m. The program will begin approximately 30 minutes later.
Similar to the weekly athletics luncheons held on the SFA campus, Lumberjack fans in Lufkin can now receive a first-hand look at the football program with Coach Harper, while enjoying a dutch treat lunch.
The Lumberjacks enter the 2010 campaign coming off a 10-3 season that saw them win the Southland Conference title, and advance to the second round of the NCAA FCS Playoffs. SFA is a unanimous preseason favorite to repeat as conference champions.
The 'Jacks are led by All-American quarterback Jeremy Moses who enters his final season as the school's all-time leading passer. The Baytown, Texas product has been named to the Walter Payton Award Watch list. The Walter Payton Award is FCS' version of the Heisman Trophy.
Defensively, the Lumberjacks will be led by All-American linebacker Jabara Williams. A 6-3, 225-pound product from Garrison, Texas, Williams has been named to the Buck Buchanan Award Watch List, an award given annually to the FCS' top defensive player.
