SFA Women's Cross Country Earns Academic Honor

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack cross country has been named a 2010 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic team announced USTFCCCA officials last Friday.
The Ladyjacks posted a team grade point average of 3.64, which tied for the 11th-best mark in the nation. SFA recorded the highest grade point average in the Southland Conference and the South Central region. SFA was one of only four conference schools to make the list.
For a team to be considered for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, they must have competed and compiled a team score at an NCAA Regional Championship meet and also have a minimum 3.00 team cumulative GPA.
The Ladyjacks finished second at the 2009 SLC Cross Country Championships, just missing the team title. Amy Shackelford and Megan Jenkins led the way for SFA finishing in the overall top 10, and earning all-conference honors at the meet.
