Series Notes
What to watch for:
- SFA is currently 6-2 through eight games of its season-long, 10-game trip away from Jaycees Field. The 'Jacks have won four in a row, including three straight to open up league play. SFA has won 11 of the last 12 against the Broncs, although UTPA did manage to break SFA's 10-game win streak in the series last season in Nacogdoches.
- Darren Crabtree and Bobby Loveless both leapt past the 20-RBI mark on Sunday, making SFA the only team in the SLC with two players with more than 20 RBI.
- The SFA offense is on fire, having scored at least one run in 14 of its last 18 innings played. Currently, SFA is tops in the Southland in batting average and slugging percentage and is tied with McNeese for the top spot with 20 home runs as a team.
- Zack Taylor will be looking to make it two straight good starts after he picked up the win last Tuesday at UALR with eight strikeouts in 5.1 innings against the Trojans. Brett Higginbotham will follow him in the nightcap of the twin bill, making his first career start.
