FRISCO, Texas - Senior guard Whitney Cormier has been named Southland Conference Player of the Week announced league officials Monday afternoon. It marks the second time this year that Cormier has received the honor.
Cormier led SFA with 20 points in a blowout victory over Northwestern State last Wednesday, and returned to the floor with a 19-point outing Saturday at McNeese State. The 24th member of the Ladyjacks' 1,000-Point Club, Cormier has averaged 22 points per game in the team's last three contests. Cormier was involved in all aspects of the games averaging 4.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 4.0 steals per game.
The Ladyjacks return to action Saturday when they host Southeastern Louisiana at 6 p.m. in the William R. Johnson Coliseum. That game will also serve as the Ladyjack Academic Shootout, and the annual Pink Zone Game.
