Williams Named To Preseason Team

FRISCO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin senior Eddie Williams has been named to the Preseason All-Southland Conference First Team, according to an announcement Wednesday by league officials. Williams is making his first appearance on the preseason team.
Williams was an automatic selection to the preseason team after earning Second-Team All-Southland honors a year ago. The Lawton, Okla., product is SFA's top returning scorer (13.3 ppg) and led the team in steals last season with 58. Williams' 1,120 minutes played last year were tops in the Southland.
Nicholls' Anatoly Bose, Gilberto Clavell from Sam Houston State, Devin Gibson of UTSA and Texas State's Cameron Johnson join Williams on the first team.
The second-team squad consists of Demond Watt (Texas A&M-Corpus Christi), Will Pratt (Northwestern State), Patrick Richard (McNeese State), Justin Reynolds (A&M-Corpus) and Josten Crow (Sam Houston).
Williams and the Lumberjacks open the season on Nov. 12 with a home game against Howard Payne. The contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start from the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
