The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field team did their part to help keep Nacogdoches clean over the weekend. In conjunction with Adopt-A-Highway, the track and field team picked up trash along a two-mile stretch of Highway 7 Saturday morning.
"This is something that our kids really enjoy doing," said head track and field coach Phil Olson. "We go out to our section of highway four times a year and pick up trash. Our team looks forward to it, and its just another way for us to give back to the Nacogdoches community."
Approximately 75 members of the track and field team, including coaches and managers showed up to participate in the event. SFA spent two hours Saturday morning picking up trash along their stretch of Highway 7.
