
Nelson Receives National Honor

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Junior Drew Nelson has been named College Football Performance Award (CFPA) FCS Punt Performer of the Week for his efforts against Texas State announced CFPA officials Monday morning.
One of the nation's top punters, Nelson averaged 52.3 yards per punt on three punts against Texas State. Among his three punts, Nelson booted a season-long 63 yarder, which is the second-longest punt in Nelson's career.
In addition to Nelson's honor, senior quarterback Jeremy Moses received honorable mention honors. Moses completed 38 passes for 335 yards and three touchdowns against the Bobcats. The Southland Conference's all-time leading passer, Moses also came close to setting another school record Saturday afternoon. Moses' 38 completions was the fourth-best single-game mark in school history.
The nationally ranked Lumberjacks return to action Saturday when they travel to Thibodaux, La., to face Nicholls. The game, which is slated for a 4 p.m. kickoff from Guidry Stadium, is the team's final road game of the 2010 campaign.
