
'Jacks Name Captains for Remaining Games

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team has voted seniors Kenneth Charles, Jeremy Moses and Jabara Williams and junior Devin Ducote as team captains for the remaining four games of the regular season.
All four athletes earned preseason All-American honors, and all four have played a significant role in the Lumberjacks jumping out to a 6-1 overall record, as well as being the Southland Conference's lone remaining undefeated team.
The reigning SLC Offensive Player of the Week, Moses is in the midst of anther All-American season, and is making a push for 2010 Walter Payton Award honors. He has completed nearly 62 percent of his passes for 2,283 yards and 20 touchdowns. Moses also set new conference career records for completions, passing yards, yards of total offense and touchdown passes.
Williams and Ducote are among the league leaders in total tackles. Williams leads the team with 71 tackles, including 4.5 tackles for 14 yards in losses, and a sack. He has also been credited for two pass deflections and two fumble recoveries. Ducote enters Saturday's contest against Texas State second on the team with 54 tackles, including five for losses. He has also recorded a sack, and pick off two passes, one of which was returned for a touchdown.
Charles was moved to defensive end prior to the beginning of the season, and remains one of the leaders on the season. Charles is fourth on the team with 39 tackles, including 11 for losses and 5.5 sacks. He has also forced three fumbles and broken up two passes on the season.
The Lumberjacks return to action Saturday when they host Texas State. The Homecoming game is slated for a 2 p.m. kickoff from Homer Bryce Stadium.
