PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team recorded an impressive 30-7 victory over Central Arkansas Saturday but it wasn't enough to jump in the national rankings. There was no movement in the top five as SFA remains fourth in the FCS Coaches Poll and fifth in the Sports Network poll. The 'Jacks are still receiving one first-place vote in the Sports Network poll.
The Lumberjacks enter the annual Battle of the Piney Woods looking for their first two-game win streak in the series since the 1998 and 1999 seasons. The 'Jacks (5-1/2-0 SLC) enter the game riding a five-game win streak. It is a similar story for Sam Houston State. After dropping consecutive games to start the season, The Bearkats have rallied to win four consecutive. Saturday's contest is slated to get under way at 2 p.m. from Reliant Stadium.
