Ladyjacks Sixth After Day One of SHSU Invitational

HUNTSVILLE, Texas - Freshman Marissa Bransburg shot an opening day 76-88 -164 (tied for 20th) to lead the Stephen F. Austin Women's golf team on the opening day of tournament play at the Elkins Lake Golf Club. The Ladyjacks finished the day with a 329-320 - 649 Monday afternoon. The Ladyjacks rallied in the second round to cut nine strokes off their open round score.
Freshman Aliece Anderson struggled in the opening round, but rallied to cut six strokes off her score in the afternoon round to finish tied with Bransburg. Anderson enters Tuesday's final round with a 85-79 - 164.
Senior Noelle Willcoxon and sophomore Allison Flake are only a stroke back with a 165. Freshman Sara Jones struggled in the opening round with a 97, but rallied in the day's final round firing a 79. She is currently 34th overall.
The Ladyjacks are set to tee off at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday to wrap up the final round of tournament action.
