
Battle Of The Piney Woods To Be Televised

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - When the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks square off with Sam Houston State on the hardwood Saturday it will mark the first Southland Conference game of the year for the two teams. It will also mark the first Toyota Game of the Week on the Southland Conference Television Network.
The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start from Sam Houston's Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum in Huntsville, Texas, and is the first of 16 scheduled basketball broadcasts on SLC-TV this spring.
Saturday's broadcast marks the third straight year for a regular-season meeting between SFA and Sam Houston to be televised. The two teams have played on television five times in the last seven seasons. The 'Jacks hold a 3-2 edge in those games, including wins in each of the last two meetings.
SFA brings a 10-3 non-conference record into the contest and has won nine of its last 10 games. Sam Houston is 8-5 on the year and has dropped two straight games heading into Saturday's contest.
The Southland Conference Television Network is available all over East Texas via MYTX 18. The game can be found on Suddenlink Cable channel 8 in Nacogdoches, Suddenlink channel 6 in Lufkin and Suddenlink channel 2 in Tyler. In Longview, fans can catch SLC-TV on WEHCO Cable channel 10.
