NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Freshman defensive lineman Wayne Thompson has transferred to SFA announced head coach J.C. Harper. The 6-0, 285, Cedar Hill native will have four years of eligibility to play for the Lumberjacks after utilizing his redshirt season last year at Tulsa.
"We are excited to have Thompson on our roster," said Harper. "This is a young man that we wanted out of high school, and we are excited that he has decided to move back closer to home. Thompson's addition is a testament to the great relationship our staff has with Texas high school coaches."
During his prep career, Thompson helped guide Cedar Hill to a 16-0 record, and a state title during his senior year. A two-time all-district performer, Thompson posted 70 tackles, including 23 for losses, and six sacks during his final season. The four-year letterwinner was also credited with five forced fumbles and four recoveries during his four-year career.
