NACOGDOCHES, Texas - More than 130 women turned out for the annual Ladies Clinic sponsored by State Farm Insurance. Throughout the course of the evening presentations were made by the SFA coaches, coaches' wives, players and trainers that were geared toward helping interested women gain a better understanding of the game of football.
The Lumberjack football team was honored in Tyler, Texas, Tuesday afternoon for their service to the Nacogdoches community. SFA received the SPORTyler East Texas Community Service Award for their constant work with the East Texas Blood Drive. The award was handed out to a couple of Lumberjack players Tuesday at the East Texas Kick-Off Luncheon. The guest speaker at the luncheon was former Notre Dame, and NFL defensive back Bobby Taylor.
The Lumberjack football team will open the season Saturday, Sept. 5, when they travel to Dallas, Texas to face SMU. The game against the Mustangs is slated to begin at 7 p.m. from Ford Stadium.
