
'Jacks Wrap Up First Week of Spring Camp

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team finished off its first week of spring ball with four workouts, and will now take the next five days off in honor of the Easter Holiday. The Lumberjacks have completed four of their scheduled 15 workouts during spring drills, and will hold scrimmages on Friday, April 17, and Saturday, April 25th. Both scrimmages are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. from Homer Bryce Stadium.
When the Lumberjacks take to the field in 2009, they will have a little bit of a new look. SFA has added two new assistants to its defensive staff in Erik Slaughter and Kurt Corbin. Slaughter comes to SFA from Texas A&M-Commerce and will work with the Lumberjack defensive ends. Corbin comes to the Piney Woods from Chattanooga, Tenn., where he was the linebackers coach for the Mocs.
The Lumberjacks will resume their normal workout schedule Tuesday, April 14th. The'Jacks next practices is slated for Wednesday, Feb 15th on the SFA practice fields beginning at 7:45 a.m.
