
Former Lumberjack Helps Out With No-No

DAVENPORT, Iowa - Former Lumberjack pitcher Kevin Thomas found himself in the minor league headlines on Thursday morning after hepitched the final two innings of a combined seven-inning no-hitter for the Quad Cities River Bandits on Wednesday.
The Pollok, Texas, native walked one and struck out one in picking up his first save of the season in the 3-0 win over the Beloit Snappers. Hector Cardenas pitched the first five innings of the game to pick up the win.
Thomas was selected by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 32nd round of the 2008 MLB Draft and was assigned to the Johnson City Cardinals last season where he finished out the season. He was then assigned to Class A Quad Cities to begin the 2009 season where he has not allowed a run in four innings over his first two appearances.
