Marshall Named SLC Athlete of the Week

FRISCO, Texas - Junior thrower Frednisha Marshall was named Southland Conference Co-Female Athlete of the Week announced league officials Wednesday afternoon. It is the third time this year, but the first time during the outdoor season, that Marshall has received the honor. She was selected along with Texas-Arlington's Jasmine Walls.
Marshall won the hammer throw at the Ty Terrill Relays this past weekend with a mark of 187-4. Marshall's throw qualified her for the NCAA Regional Championships in May, and it also set a new school record in the event. She returned to the field to finish second in the shot put with a toss of 44-9.50
Marshall, joins two-time outdoor athlete of the week and teammate Silent-Joy Egboba-Waye as the second Ladyjack to win the honor this season.
The SFA track and field team returns to action Friday when they travel to Fayetteville, Ark., compete at the John McDonnell Invitational.
