'Jacks Place Seventh at UTSA

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack golf team shot a three-over par 291 Tuesday afternoon, but was unable to climb in the overall standings at the 2009 UTSA Oak Hills Invitational in San Antonio, Texas. SFA finished the tournament with a 288-296-291 - 875 to place seventh overall.
The Lumberjacks were led by sophomore Kyle Robbins in the final round of the tournament. After recording the team's second highest score Monday, Robbins responded by shooting a team-low two-under par 70 to finish tied for 34th overall (73-79-70 - 222). Classmate Michael Smith recorded the 'Jacks' lowest round when he recorded a one-over 217 to finish tied for 19th overall.
Senior Chad Spencer recorded his second consecutive one-over par to finish tied for 30th overall with a 220. Freshman Stetson McMillan tied Spencer with a 220 after recording rounds of 72-74-74. Junior Matt Oates closed out the scoring for SFA with a 75-75-81 - 231. Oates finished tied for 62nd overall.
The Lumberjacks return to action Monday when they host the SFA Bill Hill Classic in Conroe, Texas.
