PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - For a third consecutive week the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack football team is ranked 15th in the Sports Network Top 25 poll. It marks the fifth consecutive week the Lumberjacks have been ranked. SFA jumped one spot in the FCS Coaches' Top 25 poll to 16th overall.
The Lumberjacks defeated Southeastern Louisiana 41-10 in Hammond, La., Saturday, knocking the Lions out of a four-way tie for first place in the conference standings. SFA held the powerful Lion offense to a season-low 199 yards of total offense, and only three yards rushing.
SFA will look to lock up at least a share of the 2009 Southland Conference title Saturday when they travel to Natchitoches, La. to face the Demons. The 'Jacks can also lock up the league's automatic berth in the NCAA Championships with a victory over Northwestern State.
