FRISCO, Texas - Junior quarterback Jeremy Moses has been named Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Week announced league officials Monday afternoon. It is the second time this season that Moses has received the honor.
Moses guide the 15-ranked Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks to a 41-10 victory over Southeastern Louisiana Saturday in Hammond, La. Moses completed 36-of-56 (.643) passes for 318 yards and four touchdowns. The Lumberjacks scored 28 unanswered points to start the game, and took a 28-3 lead into the locker room and never looked.
The victory over the Lions puts SFA in a two-way tie for first in the Southland Conference, which one game remaining. The 'Jacks close out the regular season Saturday at Northwestern State (0-10/0-6 SLC). A victory over the Demons would lock up a share of the program's first Southland Conference title since 1999, and would guarantee SFA the league's automatic berth in the NCAA FCS Playoffs.
