Ladyjacks to Host Academic Shootout

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team has scheduled the annual Academic Shootout for Wednesday, Feb. 4, when it hosts Nicholls. The game will begin at 7 p.m. from the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
The Ladyjacks will have a table set up at the front gate of the Coliseum where fans can make pledges. Fans can pledge a certain amount, or can pledge on a per point basis. The table will be available at all SFA home games.
The money raised from the Academic Shootout goes to help pay for the Ladyjacks' summer school classes.
The Ladyjacks are currently 8-9 on the season, and only a half game out of first place in the Southland Conference East Division with a 3-2 conference record. SFA will travel to Natchitoches, La., Wednesday to take on divisional leader Northwestern State. The game against the Lady Demons is slated to begin at 7 p.m. from Prather Coliseum.
Nicholls enters the week 0-16 overall, and 0-5 in Southland Conference play. The two teams met earlier this month in Thibodaux, La., and the Ladyjacks recorded an 92-56 victory.
