NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack basketball team returns to action Wednesday to face Central Arkansas in its Southland Conference home opener at 7 p.m. in the William R. Johnson Coliseum. It will also be a special night for Ladyjack fans, as the game will also serve as the program's "Cram the Coliseum" presented by Nacogdoches County Chamber of Commerce.
Along with the Ladyjacks' exciting game against UCA, fans can compete in the Citizens 1st Bank $1,000 Mega-Cash Scramble. Citizens 1st Bank will also be sponsoring the $200 Show for Dough contest for both civic organizations, and SFA student groups. The first 200 fans through the gate will receive a free mini-ball, while the first 500 fans to the game will receive a rally towel. The first 1,000 fans in attendance will also receive free Kellogg's Pop-Tarts. Fans also have an opportunity to win $100 in free groceries from Brookshire Brothers.
The Ladyjacks (5-8/0-1 SLC) are 2-0 all-time against Central Arkansas. The Sugar Bears enter the contest with a 4-10 overall record, and are 0-1 in league play. UCA has lost two straight, and three of the last four games, heading into Wednesday's showdown. This will be only the second trip to Nacogdoches in Sugar Bear history.
